Derek, now a Consultant, spent the whole of his practising life at DRN from 1954 being almost exclusively engaged in Family, Personal Injury and general litigation.
He is a retired Deputy District Judge having served in that capacity for 28 years until retirement. He still practises as a Notary Public having been appointed in 1979. His previous partners, Donald Race and Peter Lawson, were also practising notaries, the firm having provided notarial services to a wide range of clients in East Lancashire for some 75 years. Derek’s next mission is to supervise the training of the next generation of notaries!
When he is able to escape from such essential duties, he can sometimes be seen around Pendle on his bicycle, or studying his stamp collection as a Fellow of the Royal Philatelic Society.
