DRN Celebrates Win at Pendleside Hospice Corporate Challenge Awards
Leave a CommentThis year, DRN were honoured to take part in the Pendleside Hospice Corporate Challenge. With even more East lancashire businesses getting involved than ever before, it was the perfect opportunity to raise money for an excellent local cause and work up some healthy competition among our business peers.
The whole team at DRN worked together to raise a target-smashing £6001 for the Pendleside Hospice Corporate Challenge. This includes the fantastic £1700 raised at our Uncork and Unwind event, hosted at Tubbs of Colne.
The total raised by all of the Corporate Challenge participants was £157,000 – a huge contribution which totally smashed the original target by tens of thousands of pounds.
At the Corporate Challenge Awards, a glittering ceremony held at and hosted by Burnley Mechanics and compered by 2BR, our very own Stuart McNamara was crowned Fundraiser of the Year in front of hundreds of people from Burnley and East Lancashire businesses.
DRN was also highly commended for our fundraising efforts both at the event and throughout the Corporate Challenge itself.
We were also proud to spend the evening with Burnley FC In the Community, Petty’s, Batch, BCW Engineering and Root Fifty Two. It was a great night to celebrate and network with partners like Root Fifty Two and we look forward to another record-breaking year for the 2019 Corporate Challenge. It was our pleasure to support the event and to sponsor the drinks reception.
Director David Lawson said:
“We are extremely proud of Stuart for his win against such strong competition, and of our whole team who threw themselves into the fundraising with great enthusiasm. The awards night at Burnley Mechanics was lots of fun and an excellent opportunity to celebrate and network with leading businesses from all over East Lancashire. Drinks were flowing, we raised thousands of pounds for charity and it was an opportunity to celebrate the great work Pendleside Hospice do in our community. A fantastic night was had by all.”
