Preparing for a wage hike

This entry was posted in Business Law, Employment Law, For Business, News on by .

Is your business ready to cope with the  introduction of the National Living Wage in April 2016? The press is reporting the views of some that recruitment will be scaled back, workforces reshaped, and prices put up to cover the extra 50p per hour that will need to be paid to lower-earning workers. Increasing basic pay to £7.20 for workers aged 25 and over may not be something that affects you or your business significantly or at all. But even if that’s so, it could well affect those you’re doing business with; suppliers, for example, who may have to look at their commercial options. Wherever you stand in all of this, it’s sensible to address your mind to the potential consequences. And bear in mind, too, that the living wage is set to go up to £9 per hour by 2020, so you might want to factor that into your planning. Road Safety Week 2015

This entry was posted in Road Traffic Law on by .

One of the key topics in this year’s Road Safety Week is that we are all urged to do less driving and do more walking in order to make the streets safer and to make it better for the environment. Hopefully during this year’s Road Safety Week, more drivers will ditch their cars in favor of walking, cycling or using public transport.

However for many, a car journey is an absolute necessity and it is therefore a case of educating drivers and reminding them that there are other road users and that they must always drive with due care and attention, and to pay particular attention to pedestrians.

At Donald Race & Newton we have specialists who can provide a free initial interview and who will act on a no win no fee basis in respect of Road Traffic Accident claims, whether you were an innocent pedestrian or indeed a non-fault driver or passenger. For a confidential discussion give the office a call on 01282 433241 to discuss.
