Arrests of female drink drivers

According to a survey carried out by the AA, in the past 15 years the number of female drink drivers has almost doubled.  There have been many reasons suggested amongst which include boredom and the popularity in recent years of new wine bars etc as meeting places for a drink after work or during liunch ,where mothers can catch up. In many instances that glass of wine leads to a bottle with the result that they are well over the limit the following morning.David leach of DRNs road traffic department said ” more and more often i am dealing with female drivers who for whatever reason including stress or boredom are frequently turning to drink to alleviate stress. They have not however cosidered the effect that that odd glass of wine or bottle in some cases would have on the morning after or on the drive to school- the most obvious being the obligatory 12 month minimum  disqualification.”
